Who This Course is for
The test of competence will make sure of your knowledge and skills to work in the UK/ Ireland . This exam will be in 2 parts : 1st part will be theory based multiple choice examination which is known as CBT and 2nd part will be a practical test known as OSCE.
What is the procedure for examination?
The requirement to write the CBT and OSCE exam is that candidates must have nursing qualifications and require at least 1 year experience if they have not completed their nursing degree in the UK. You must pass the IELTS exam with at least 7.0 in each area (writing , reading, speaking, listening)in order to demonstrate your English language competency.
CBT
CBT is a multiple choice computer based test of competence which is the 1st part . Candidates can take their CBT exam after online eligibility assessment. It will test your theoretical part.You need to answer 120 questions and need to achieve 66 percent to pass the exam. Candidates can take this exam after online eligibility examination. CBT results will be available after 48 hour of the exam .You will get a maximum of 3 attempts as a part of the applicant with a minimum of 10 working days between each sitting. If you do not pass in the third attempt then your application will be closed and if you want to continue then you need to start with new registration.
OSCE
OSCE is a 2nd part for competence which is practical. It currently forms six stations. Three clinical skill stations that will be most likely related to encounters whilst working in the UK. and another three stations you need to complete based on scenario ongoing assessment , ongoing care of service users and implementing care.
OSCE results will be sent to email within 5 working days of your OSCE sittings. You will get a maximum of 3 attempts as a part of the applicant with a minimum of 10 working days between each sitting. If you do not pass in the third attempt then your application will be closed and if you want to continue then you need to start with new registration.
